I can't get past Gabriel, I can't sink anymore time into this book. I don't care that there is going to be a HEA at the end. I don't care how hot everyone says Gabriel is. He is the epitome of a narcissistic, whiny, self absorbed little twit.I am writing this review without finishing the book, I don't even care. I have read all the books so far into the series. I actually own them all now. It will not kill me to go one without reading this one.Jared deserves better, Gabriel's gf deserves better. The readers deserve better than this character. As much as I enjoy Allesandra's work, I am done. I may skip book 4 if Tristan is anything as bad as his brother but I am not giving up on the series. 5 glowing starsJust A Bit Unhealthy is the third in Straight Guys series which is an MM Romance series. This title has a HEA. MM Contemporary Romance. BI, GFY. Friends to lovers. Age gap. Doctor-patient aka forbidden fruit aspect. Angst. Co-dependency. Obsession, posessiveness. 2 main POVs. 3rd person. Past tense. 193 pages. Originally published March 26th 2015.This series has a new main couple in each title. The same people can still be characters in other series titles aside from the one where they appear as main characters. The books can be read also as standalones. The story may contain descriptions and or situations some readers might find improper.The main couple in this story are young Soccer star Gabriel DuVal and Jared Sheldon, the team physician and cousin to Alexander Sheldon. We met both Gabriel and Jared briefly already earlier in Alexander and Christian's book (Just A Bit Obssessed) where the setting of their relationship became apparent. The story in this book picks up after that. They met while Gabriel was literally in his teens yet and under Jared's care. In this story they're trying to manage or fight off their mutual obsessive feelings in turn. Both have the notion that their feelings for each other are mutually incompatable and differing from each other. Gabe's gotten himself a steady girlfriend and there might be family on the way, but nothing helps. Jared tries to simply up and go and leave, but in the end he cannor resist Gabriel any less than Gabriel him. It's magnet to steel. Gabriel ends up choosing him over his girlfriend. When they get that much more forward, they will find their feelings and needs meeting halfway and also their way into a HEA.I think it's an intrigueing, dramatic, well-written story with lots of emotions and successful portrayals of characters. It's not a story about perfect people who have no regrets who have absolute control over their feelings and what they do or who feel only those "proper" feelings those "proper" people are supposed to only have. It's a story about human beings with feelings and imperfections, drives and needs that belong to the wide spectrum we humans have. It makes a reader feel, too.Well done!Recommended for MM GFY readers who might appreciate this type of characfers and stories.
